primary side oil

Hi all some riders use oil in the primary side that is different to that stated in handbooks any reason why please. Roy

Modern research and good sense. Oil has come a long way since I put 20-50 in everything I owned since the 60's.

Some people use automatic transmission fluid ? Look at SRM's website and see what they recommend.

Some people use a thinner oil such as ATF as it is less viscous so lets the clutch plates separate more readily reducing clutch drag. This obviously only applies to clutches that run in  oil, not M20 etc.
