Has anybody else got access to what model an A50 frame number was assigned to? or is the only way a dating cert from club, i'm not looking for anything official at the moment just the model.

thanks

The A50 frame number was assigned to both the A50 and the A65 but going off that number I would say it was probably a 1964 frame but as to what model A50 or A65 that would have to come from the dating service. My 1963 A65 has the original frame and it begins A50.

Try Glass's guide. Certainly worked for me as dating proof with DVLA

thats what i need mike, but who has glass's guide for 1964?

my bets on a 1964 thunderbolt rocket or is it a rocket with rev counter?

more than likely its an A65 Star. nothing wrong with that though.

This is from Glass's motor cycle check book 1958-65 issue

so its all academic really as without the dispatch records the exact configuration is still a mystery, no worries its still going to be a spitfire (mkiv) engine A65SB numbered thing.

I know before everybody starts shouting the casings are all the same etc etc.

watch this space for another bitsa.

Do you have spitfire pistons. I have a pair of 10.5:1(so I;m told) they are std and worn. But would be good if you are likely to have you cylinders relined.
