air filters
« on: 01 March, 2019, 09:19:37 »
Hi all - new topic. I am about to purchase a pair of pancake air filters for the carbs (9 series concentrics) on my 1966 Spitfire (see A65 kickback) however some people say (including a friend who has the same year Lightning) I need the filters with an offset hole (so as to line it up with the edge of the side covers) but the firm I am thinking of buying from says I need the centre hole ones. Anyone no who's right?
Thanks  John.

Hi all - it would appear, according to other information I have received that I need the offset air filters.
John.

Fitted the offset air cleaners yesterday and they fit fine. The reason that you need the offset fitting is so you can spin the filters around to line up with the edge of the side panels.
Thanks John.
