c 11 clutch issues
« on: 28 February, 2019, 17:58:55 »
the clutch cable and lever are offering no pull on the clutch at all, in fact the lever on the gear box just waggles up and down with no significant pressure.

before i remove gearbox and look, any pointers as to possible culprit?

thanks

seems im on my own on this?

anyway, took apart the clutch and cleaned them up, all stuck together,
the centre rod moves freely,
the cable actuator arm moves well inside the gearbox

but the actuator isnt pressing the clutch release tube at all, it seems either

the rod is too short (adjuster screw fully out so not this)
theres something missing inside making it not reach

theres no pressure on the bar at all?

thanks for replying,

4 speed,

right i not have actuation, dont know what came loose when i took the plates off and cleaned them, but now i seem to have a nice pulling clutch.......but

now the kickstart only spins the clutch, no engine engagement....hell fire this bike is never getting stood under a cover ever again hahaha

so

kickstart just spins freely (cotterpin is in so i dont mean spinning on the shaft) with nothing from engine, not even a feel for compression underfoot, you can press the kickstart down with your hand

Clutch slipping?

make sure there is clearance between the pushrod and the adjuster inside the gearbox inspection cover.

no not clutch slipping, no compression on the kickstart

id love to know if the clutch slips, i just dont have the means to start the bike because the kickstart seems to do nothing but spin the clutch assembly.

and its not spinning on the shaft the cotter pin is tight

It sounds like clutch slip. The kickstart 'drive' goes through the clutch to the engine. Its not like a car.

If the kickstart pedal is turning the shaft properly but the engine i.e piston isn't moving then its probable the clutch plates are slipping and the spings in the basket need tightening.

If the piston is moving but no compression then i expect the valves need adjusting.

Have you still got the clutch cover off?

thanks bees

at last someone with a simple answer

yes cover is off

ok, so should i tighten the 3 springs to show how many threads on the bolts?

engine was running really well day before so im discounting compression and vale issues

your a start thanks
