left riders footpeg C11

so while im getting bike sorted for the better weather, iv come to realise that the left riders foot peg is rotating, and rotating onto the brake.

I cant tighten it up ant more, as theres limited thread on the bar, and it only tightens up at 1 point??

i think over the years someone has modified this, as it looks wrong.

The footpeg mar that goes through is octagonal, and welded onto the peg, and around 1/2" of thread other end, od which tightens the whole lot up.

how can i tighten it up to stop it moving ?

no, thats not the answer, iv tried that, its the hex bar, and the poor design.

over the years its worn both in the hole and around the bar

im at a loss for words on how bad a design this is.........

iv made up the bar with threaded bar, and i cant get that to hold without the footpeg slipping down ont6o the brake 180 degrees....

i cant be the only one suffering this??? i even tried to get hex bar, not a chance as its either too big
(dont want to file down and run the risk of it getting slack again) or too small, and i need it bigger though to create a thread.

drtagonfly show a completely different set up to what i have on their spares listing diagram.

I think your parts are non standard hence the problem.

My recollection of my C11 from some years back is that the footrests are not welded to the hex bar, that each foot rest has a hex hole for the bar and the engine plates similarly have a hex hole so everything is held in place and secured by the nut at either end.

thank you, looks like i may have sorted the issue , you were correct at some point the rest had been welded, causing my confusion.
