Key to what parts are plated or painted in ?
« on: 09 August, 2018, 00:39:19 »
My parts book for my 1935 Blue star does not have the key to what the parts are plated or painted in. I know that after each part number there is a / then a number. I need to know as all the nuts and bolts that came with it were rusty with no sign of plating or paint, yes it came as a box of bits.

Thanks Julian, not sure if it's the same as the pre war machines. I'll look at my parts book and see if it makes sense.

The suffixes are a constant pre and post war. They got added to as new models and different finishes emerged.

I looked at the parts book and it all seemed right to me.
Thank you for the info Julian, I can start plating now.

This thread really interests me as I've never been quite sure how different bits on my L32-3 were finished. My '32 parts book doesn't have any suffixes (/) to the part numbers. Is this something that just appears in later parts catalogues?
