She's running sweet, now she'll smell sweet.

I was in a modern scooter shop yesterday on other matters when I noticed their Putoline synthetic 2T oil was well priced so I bought a couple of bottles as I was running low anyway. The bonus was that the strawberry scented stuff was the same price as the non-scented. I'd been thinking for some time of trying the scented stuff in the Raleigh moped I use around the village. If they have to tolerate my trail of smoke it might as well smell nice.
I don't know whether it will actually smell any better to the villagers or how the Bantam will get on with it but, if I remember, I'll let you know in due course. ( I still have a litre of fuel in the Raliegh so it might be a while yet  ;D)

Have any of you used this oil?

If you want a nice smell, put a spoonful of Castrol R40 in the petrol. I use it in my lawn mower as well. smells like Brands Hatch.

Yes, I do put Castrol R in the fourstrokes. Nice smell for those old timers following behind and hopefully does a bit of upper cylinder lubrication as you can't get  'a shot of Redex' at the filling station these days.

Be careful putting 'R' in fuel as it has a nasty habbit of gumming the piston rings and causing havoc with the bore... Seen plenty that have done that.....   Griff

Thanks for the warning Griff.
Now I'll have to find another way of using up a gallon and a half of  R!
