Hi all,
C15 375 carb with an Amal black float.
I've noticed that the float sticks DOWN after a short period of being empty, causing flooding obviously.
However , when I removed the float chamber cover and exposed it , I found an area of plastic moulding or flashing around the 7 o clock that was catching on the raised screw casting.
Cleaned off and much more mobile now.
Fingers crossed

I had a similar issue with a 389 monobloc a few years back. Same solution as rhyatt. A new carb bought in 2022 shows AMAL made a slight modification to the carb- the boss for the cover screw has been machined to provide clearance for the float moulding. The carb body on the left in the photo shows this. The body on the right is the one I had the issue with.

Ah , I know what to do if required.

I struggled with this issue.  Scraping at the standoff, and filing off the sprue from the float didn't fix it but a brand new float worked a treat.  I wonder if the float design got updated at some point?

The float in my 2022 carb is marked 376/083/1 and has AMAL in different script to the earlier stayup float which does not have /1 in the marking. The later one with /1 appears to be fractionally smaller.
