Good afternoon Gentlemen

My bike - 1962 RGS Replica ....

Has anyone any experience with buying a replacement one oil filler cap - the scripted ones with shell / duck hams etc on the cap  ? I sadly lost my original (don't ask ) and the replacement ones available mew all seem to be produced in India and the one I bought won't actually screw into the tank more than a 1/16th of a turn

I noticed that drag n fly state that theirs have been "tested to fit" which leads me to believe that the casting of the thread quality is not good

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions/ comments

Matthew

Update A - I think I have been able to answer my own question- seems that going by reviewers of tank caps left on e bay (pretty sure all the new ones available come from the same Indian manufacturer) it's known that some of these only screw a thread or two - unless of course they have been "test fitted to an original tank" - as stated by Drag n fly .... I have e mailed Cheshire Bike Parts and will let you know how they offer to resolve - meantime .... I am looking to buy a replacement original tank cap if anyone here has one they can bear to part with ???

i had the same problem. in my case it was indian made and they had produced it with completely the wrong thread. cant remember the different sizes but it was wrong thread on right part number. you'll find my feedback on fleabay some where. it was that company that makes supposedly good quality pattern seats but the name eludes me. it took 3 purchases before i realized they were rubbish. needless to say they banned me from buying from them when i refused to change my feedback.
i then got mine afterwards from draganfly (other companies are availible) and it fitted like a glove.

i went on the road to nowhere and got lost.... nothing to do with this, just saying
