WobblyBoot

Hi. Its Wobbly with a question if you dont mind. I am doing my steering head races, cups and bearing and no problem. So  in the meantime i pulled forks apart which leaked like a second hand radaitor.

Thing is upon removal of all parts but mainly the cup and blank that holds the seal in place seemed to have 2 seals in each side. When i bought a seal and bush kit there is only 1 seal perside supplied.

My question would 2 seal create a problem potentially traping oil and muck inbetween the 2 or would it help seal the fork. Maybe its meant to have 2 but Cannot see in Ratio manual.

Any thoughts or ideas. Thank you Brains Trust in Adv.

From memory, there should be 2 seals per leg in the holder

I'm sure rhyatt is right. I think the two seals per side was introduced on later models.  My C15F project now has 2 seals per side - and these were part of set of seals and holders I bought less than a year ago. (I'm sure it is covered in Rupert's books...)

I've just checked my C15 bsa service sheets
Earlier forks have 1 seal , later forks have 2 seals
My 1965 ss80 has 2 seals
But I don't know the changeover date.
Remember oil seal lips downwards
You clearly have the later forks
