Done a bit of a boob with my '62 B40.. Fitting new rockercover gasket and dropped a stud down the pudhrod channel. Rods out, retreive the stud then dropped the rods and can't find out which rod goes where . Is the shorter one exhaust or inlet and does the exhaust rod go on the inside or the outer one ?  Help as this was a 5 minute job ?

Hi Griffo
Are the two rods not the same length? You've not got a C15 rod in there have you? (B40 7 5/8" C15 7 5/16")
Inlet is outside.

Usually 1 is painted red to identify I think

I've just checked the manual and parts list for my B44SS. My pushrods have the same part number and are the same length. The INNER goes to the EXHAUST and the OUTER goes to the INLET.

The c15 and B40 are definitely 2 different part numbers
