Still can't attach an image to a post

I've tried everything, even reducing the file size to about 100kb but when I click on "insert image" it just puts the word image in the post. Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong please? Thanks.

just below this box will be 'Attachments and other options'
click once
a few lines down will be 'Browse' and an empty box.
click 'Browse'

another box will open and you can go to the picture you are trying to upload. depending where it is on your compy. i always have them in the desktop folder but it doesnt matter where it is so long as you know where it is. make sure its compatable e.g 'front thwacket lever. jpg' or whatever it is

when you find it double click it and the box will disappear and the file name will appear in the box next to' browse'

once you've written what ever you want in this box just click 'Post' at bottom right and ta-dah!! its uploaded
