Hi , looking for a bit of advice on tank sealants. I've had a couple of goes with a 2 part epoxy sealant, I think it was a mistake should have just cleaned out the inside and left it at that. I've applied the sealant as directed and left a couple of weeks to cure on 2 tanks , but within a couple of days of adding fuel it seems soften in area's and start to flake . Anyway would like to get rid of it, what's the best solution / chemical to clear out on any other option to solve ?

Thanks

which brand did you use?

old stock may not be ethanol proof. Ive done a few tanks in the past that have peeled in the years since Ethanol added.

One suggestion would be reverse electrical, where you use a battery charger to reverse the rusting process then treat. There is a few threads on the forum regarding this.
Ive also had success with modern bikes and rusted tanks by using caustic soda and salts. also threads and google information.

one old bike with old sealer cut out when the liner fell over the fuel outlet and stopped the supply.

Tank care sell a liquid you pour in the tank and leave sealed in for a few days. You can normally shake the liner out as small flakes and rinse out.
