Blue Star Oil Pipes
« on: 08 August, 2024, 11:34:19 »
Can anyone shed some light on the destination for the oil feed coming out of the crankcase/chain case of a 1931 350 Blue Star?

I'm assuming it's to the oil pressure gauge ?

Well, the Blue Stars I'm familiar with have the oil feed to the Oil Pressure Gauge taken from the adjuster/regulator body at the bottom of the timing case on the right hand side of the engine.
There is a vertical takeoff on the crankcase at the rear left hand side of the barrel (or did some of them have this on the right?) which has a copper pipe to provide oil mist to the inlet valve.
Finally, the lower horizontal  chaincase stud fitted to the crankcase is part drilled to act as a breather and primary chain oiler. This has an adjuster.
