In an attempt to get the timing right on my B33 plunger I took off the timing side cover and damaged the crank shaft oil feed tube.
When I say damaged I mean snapped it at the shoulder ..

First off how hard is it to remove before I get all caveman with it. And where can I get a new tube ?

Cheers ..

Found the tube ( Big end oil feed quill )

is it a home job or will it need an adult to do it for me  ?

When I checked mine over (years ago), I found the rubber sealing washer was mushy & had to be replaced.

You need to remove the punch marks holding the quill in place. A self tapping screw screwed into the hole enable yo to pull it out. Failing that tap a thread in it and screw in a small bolt. When I broke mine I was able to get one on line. They are the same a an M20.

Thank you for that, just what I was looking for .
Mine doesn't have any punch marks so guessing it's original.

Shame really as it looks in pretty good condition except for the crack lol . I did consider soldering it up

Would I need to set the height of the tube or is it a fit and forget thing ?  I thought bolting the cover on would settle it
to the correct height ?

That won't  work. It is a press fit in the cover. Just tap the new one in it goes against a shoulder. It doesn't press against the crank, it just squirts the oil into the crank. As the B33 has a roller big end you don't need high pressure hence no seal.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it..
