Starter rollers

Anyone use starter rollers ,if so any feed back on type/make and do they do the job I have just have just made a set ,it was a bit of a mine field choosing a suitable motor ( car starter motor) and get the gearing somewhere near ,also battery amps and CCA rating , they can now start my A10 from cold so getting there

hi,
   I made my own starter rollers I bought the rollers in kit form ie rollers bearings chain and sprockits,I also used a electric motor single phase 1.5kw 4pole
1400rpm made a frame in box section also made a chain guard it works very well .

       just to  add if you use a electric motor make sure you can reverse rotation.

heres mine two land rover starter motors has a foot switch and attaches to a 12 volt battery . hung on the wall at the moment with all sorts hanging off them but you will get the idea .

Very interesting,  i attach photo of my homemade,  starts my A10 ,fairly easy as long as battery is good charge of cou, i may raise gearing to speed up rollers ,rollers them selves spin at 3000 at moment 2.5kw motor

they look good as long as they do the job eh,a friend of mine his mate made one using starter motors with thick drive chain and massive sprockets with no guard
looks like a meat grinder oh my god what a mess.
