A camp for BSA's will be held at The Adare Camping Park 10th-12th of may 2024, previously this was a Royal Enfield camp and is also open the the RE folks also. The site is approximately a mile and half from Adare. It is a well run site with good facilities and the owner is a classic motorcycle rider named Hugh, in previous years he has organised the Saturday ride-out for us.
This is the first BSA camp in Ireland that I have set up but have organised camps and rallies in the past number of years for the Royal Enfielder's Ireland group.
I look forward to meeting a few more BSA owners.

Hi Janner,

Thanks for letting us know about this.  I think that this could be first for a weekend in Ireland.  We are provisionally looking at the logistics of this.

Dave.

We also have the Royal Enfielder's Ireland camp/rally event at Powers the Pot Clonmel in August 9th-11th this is open to and encourage BSA owners to attend. We had quite a few BSA owners over the years.

I'm keen on this, didn't get to the Midlands last year when doing end to end.
May is usually the best time  weather wise.
Just got to sort out domestic arrangements.
Hopefully can ride over with others.

Bike choice might be made for me; what's the view on coming on the WM20 wrt historic sensitivities?

Hi Janner,

Can you tell us the format for the weekend?
I see that the campsite does not have any catering or shop.  Is there somewhere to gather together on the site as there does not seem to be a pub nearby.  Also, do we have to book directly with the campsite?

Adare is a small town approximately 1.5 miles away with off-licences take aways and pubs with food. This site is the closest and was used as a camp for the Royal Enfielder's Ireland for the last four years. On Saturday morning we have a ride out of approximately 50-60 miles and lunch stop. A BSA Royal Enfield dealer is in Adare and would be included in the ride out for those who desire.
It is best to book directly with the site as this avoids confusion.
It is quite an informal camp and hopefully be the first of many and a chance to meet new and old friends.

Hi Janner,

Thanks for the info.
Is there anywhere on the site that we could use for socialising in the evening to save the walk to and from the pub?   If not could a small marquee be put up?
Some of us thinking of attending may have difficulties walking to and from the pub.

Hi,

Just did a bit of research and the cost of a taxi from the campsite to Adare could only cost about £40 return for 8 people so about £5 each.  Something to consider.

The setup at Adare Camping Park sounds top-notch, especially with Hugh knowing his stuff and all. I bet that Saturday ride-out is gonna be a blast for everyone involved. And hey, even though it's your first go at a BSA camp in Ireland, your past experience wrangling Royal Enfield events should give you a solid edge.
