Hi all.
I trying to source a headgasket for my 1935 R35-5 blue star, I have seen one on British only Austria can anyone tell me if there is availability in the uk.
I have tried different suppliers and internet search's as it's my first bsa and prewar I don't know the best places to look or source this this.
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I think the originals were copper faced composite gaskets.  I ended up making one from copper sheet and annealing it before fitting.

Thank you for the reply
Can you tell me the thickness of the copper you used as I'm tempted to give this a go.

Thanks.

I think it was 1.5mm. Set the head onto the cylinder without a gasket. The head will sit on the cylinder spigot. Measure the gap where the gasket should be and make your gasket slightly thicker.
I clamped a sheet of copper between two pieces of plywood and fitted to a lathe backplate to bore the cylinder hole.
