I guess I have ordered last one.
I have spoken to the bloke today. Sounds honest decent man.
I shall have sleeve after I'm back from holidays.
Fingers crossed it fits perfect and I will be "well pleased" (as Alan Millard says).
I have browsed on their stock for BSA.
Reasonable prices for parts for this living in UE.

For now I m enjoying two wheels in Greece.... greetings to you all

Here it is part from Neil fitted.
It is perfect! Goes smoothly and makes no noise!
Cheers Neil!
Fighting with magneto and dynamo setup...while waiting for clutch sleeve from Netherlands to come!

Good
Is the fibre gear fully home?
Normally it is flush with the front face of the magdyno body
I'm concerned that it might bind on the triangular faceplate when that is installed?

Dan_B33

Hi Neil,
All works perfectly and fits ideally.
Runs smoothly with no grinding noise when fully assembled.
All I need is to complete the work and start the motor to see how it goes....all together

Hello!
First kicks today!
Managed to fire her once!
Need to double chec the carburettor settings .
How far out shall be air screw on monoblock?
Looks like I have too much fuel...black smoke and wet spark.
Any hints on carburetor setup?

Your bike appears to have a Monobloc carb fitted. The OEM jetting for the Monobloc uses a 260 main jet, a 3 ½ slide with a 1065 needle jet. Pilot could be a 30 or 35. I'd try with the air screw about 1 ½ to 2 turns out and kick it with the throttle closed. If the throttle is too far open it may not want to fire. Once you have it running and warmed up adjust the air screw for maximum revs at idle then adjust the throttle stop for a sensible tick over speed

Excellent start and good suggestions
I presume your float and needle are good and you did not over tickle!
Half retard, couple of priming strokes, nudge over tdc and give it a full blooded swing.
I presume you have the usual solid copper core HT lead, no suppressor plug cap and a non suppressed plug?  Points 12 though and plug gap 18 thou.

Dan_B33

Many thanks Neil an Derek!
I will double check jetting. Needle jest is for sure 106. That would be right. Not sure about slide size and pilot jet. Need to check.

My fear is that the float is not set properly and it is flooding...with fuel. I will check that tomorrow and go to see the rest of the hints.

Plug cup shall have almost no resistance, right (like few ohms) . Spark plug is BR6HS  ....is that ok?

The BR6HS plug has a built in resistor, not what you want with a magneto ignition. You need the non-resistor version - B6HS.

Hi,
My bad went to garage my spark plugs are B6HS by NGK.
I have measured plug cup and it look like it has some kOhms resistance.
Measured plugs the are less than 2 Ohms, shall be good
Need to buy new cable since it is copper but not single wire...but still almost no resistance on in.

Still to revise:
Float level
Points gap (it was 10thou)
Ignition timing accuracy

The copper stranded wire with no resistance will be fine.
The cap less so.
I also solder the copper wire once fed through the brass washer at the magneto end (otherwise get oil and gunk around the wires. I make it a smooth blob and file it flat to get a good connection on the carbon plunger.
