Hello,
I bought what seems to be B33 Plunger (1953)  in September 2023.
Engine of a bike for sure is not original and had numbers redone by som butchers.
Date on timing side is 10.11.58.
Bike starts ....from time to time.

I'm checking the bike bit by bit discovering (everywhere I move) temporary solutions....and" hacks ".
Luckyly I paid less than 2k pounds for her....but she needs a lot of work I bet.
I'm new to BSA ....(I had RE bullet 350 for 10 years)...

Thanks for this forum . I'm sure I will use it a lot....

Is that 500 engine for sure?

Your best bet is to find out what the differences are between the 350 and 500cc engines and see what you have as you check round the engine. For example the crankshaft sprocket is different, as of course is the bore size. The bore size is most conclusive, as previous owners could have fitted the wrong part because it's all they could get. I can't tell the difference between the 350 and 500 just by looking at the head and barrel, even though I've had an M33 for four years.
