Magneto

1936 BSA B2.

My bike is at the menders sorting out a few niggles over the winter. It's nearly done, I believe, but there appears to be an issue with the magneto. It produces a good spark off the bike, but no spark when it's fitted back on.

Does anyone have an idea why this might be?

Two things come to mind:-

Have you got a good earth between the mag and frame.
But most probably, the kick over speed is a lot slower than the testing speed on the bench. A failing mag will only produce a weak or no spark at very slow speed.
