Hi gents
Approaching the moment of truth with the hornet resto and guess what t looks like the carbs ( or at least one ) is shot!   Try as i might the 689 will not seal. Has anyone come across the bodys becoming  porous over time? There is evidence of corrosion probably salt? So either new carbs or at least a serviceable used 689. Any recommendations as to where to source new and any thoughts on what model to buy? Monos for originality ofcourse but open to suggestions. Thanks all.
Dave.

Where does the leak appear to come from?

The leak is most definitely around the float bowl. I've tried checking mating surfaces on a flat plate new covers and gaskets. Im sure its seeping through in the vicinity of some corrosion damage and gathering at the lowest point! Looks like new carbs. Thanks for your input.
