Hi all,
As the C15/B40 cases don't have an engine oil drain other than removing the sump plate has anyone modified the sump plate to incorporate a plug?
Or is there a commercially produced plate as there is for the twins?
Thanks

Why not just crack off the 4 nuts holding it on and a pot underneath.
Assuming you are proposing laying it up for a while.
I don't bother and run mine about once a fortnight if I don't intend using it.

I drilled a hole in the sump cover and welded a nut on the inside of the cover on my B50. However when the plug is removed and oil drained, there is oil left in the cover up to the top level of the nut. Its best to remove the sump cover when changing the oil anyway...

I added the oil drain because of my experience with wet sumping on other bikes. It turns out my B50 doesn't wet sump.

I modified a sump plate for my SS90 by drilling a hole in it and welding a nut to the outside. Just used a bolt and fibre washer as a drain plug. Makes draining off any oil from wet sumping a quick job.

Sump covers with a drain plug is available from some of the usual dealers. Fitted one to my B40. Sadly can't them on the two B44VS as the skid plate is too close to the engine.
