Tank Badge Size

The build on my A65 project is slowly getting there.  Waiting for the crank, head etc to come back from T&L engineering I took a look at my new tank hoping to fit the knee pads, badges and trim.  The badges I have seem too small for the recess in the side of the tank.  Now i'm worried that the new-from-India tank could be the wrong size.  The badge measures approx 130mm wide (sorry to be metric!) and the recess is about 160mm.  Hopefully the pictures clarify this OK.  I just hope that I can buy badges to fit the tank and that I've not bought a duffer! Fingers crossed one of you clever folks out there can point me in the right direction.

Just measured mine Rob: recess is 136 x 85mm, badge is 127 x 81mm.

Mine is a 1965 Lightning and I'm pretty sure that the tank and badges are original..... (But, with my bike's history, I couldn't guarantee it.)

Sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear....

Mind, the tanks probably changed every time they had a break....

Thanks for quick reply.  Looking at pictures of A65's I've yet to see a 'big badge' example!  Looks as if I may have a problem unless anyone else can point me at a source for larger sized items.  Fingers crossed.  Rob

It looks like your tank badge recesses are to suit the later cast type. Attached pic in inches but in metric is roughly 159mm long and 92mm wide. HTH

How many screw holes does your tank have for each badge?
