Have you booked you ferry?
« on: 04 June, 2023, 18:04:12 »
Hi,

I am sure that those of you going to the Netherlands Summer Camp have already booked a ferry crossing.  We have just done ours and it is obvious that crossings and cabins are getting booked up and as this happens the price goes up. If you haven't then get on with it.
We ended up opting for Stena from Harwich as they are offering a 10% discount for motorcycle bookings and it is possible to put two bikes on one booking and the cost includes trike, sidecar or trailer.  As we live not far from Hull we usually go for P&O but apart from their shenanigans a couple of years ago they are getting very expensive and they penalise the wish to take another bike.  Only one vehicle allowed per booking.  As an rough example a fare for two and one bike includes about £127 for the bike (two bikes = 1 standard car), The extra bike is £161.  We want to take a trailer behind one of the bikes and the size categories are quite limited so another £100plus for the trailer.
Booking with Stena saved nearly £300 and if necessary we could split the journey and stay in a Travelodge and still be quids in.

Dave.
