Wandering around the frame
« on: 19 April, 2023, 20:17:29 »
I’m rebuilding the engine after more than 30 years riding the bike, but the frame also needs a respray.
So i came across Some brackets and would-be like to know , where is it for?

Same thoughts like 30 years ago.

1: bracket along the downtube right, above the motormount, weld seems like original.

2: the pointed plate underneath the sadel on the middle tube.

3: bracket on the right, under the backtube of the frame.

Lightning 1970 frame,

Gr alex

I have got no purpose for these, but where is / was it for?????

Hi Alex,
Image 2 and 3, pointed brackets to put a bicycle pump between to inflate your tyres.

The first image l cant quite make out its orientation, but there's no bracket on the front downtube normally.

Best wishes...
