Can someone point me in the direction of where best to buy spares for my bike apart from eBay, I need a rear brake plate part number 42 6314 plenty on eBay but none match mine.

Spaceman

There are a number of non-eBay Suppliers but, in the past, I've tended to always start with Burton Bike Bits since prices and availability is normally good.

In terms of the brake plate, the part number given seems to relate to a pre-1958 A10 with the later ones using 42-6357. Not sure whether a 1959 A10SR was different?

42 6314 is the 1958/59 rear brake plate with lever pointing upwards and used on the frames prefixed FA7. Like the one in the first photo. These are sometimes found with damaged threaded cable boss.

If your bike is 1960 season but made in late 1959 frame prefixed GA7  it uses brake plate lever pointing down casting 42 6351   or 42 6357 from around mid 1960(which was stronger but interchangable) Second photo.

The full width rear hub A65 uses the same basic casting but with a larger diameter hole for the cam so does not fit the A10.

Hello Spaceman thanks for your reply, I got the item number from my 1959 super rocket pdf download and it looks the like the same part, it's pretty confusing as on eBay there are several variations ranging from three holes and four and conical shaped etc.

This is the rear view of 42 6314 but fitted with later type floating shoes.

Thanks JulianS I think i sent a private message to you instead of just replying but the 42 6314 is the correct one and it is because of the stripped boss that I am unable to adjust the brake anymore.

Also JulianS you are correct with the frame number starts FA7 and engine starts CA10R
