I bought a Indian tank for my A7 from a chap called Rumy, I managed to knock him down on the price also, It came well packed, badged and knee pads painted and chrome ready to fit and the fit was good, one problem was the petrol tap holes needed to be cleaned up with the correct tap as it had quite a bit of paint in the threads. I was well pleased.

I don't know what paint the Indians use on the inside of the tanks,I have had five but the paint has never come off even with ethanol.

If you are considering buying any item from India you need to consider the following. There are some good quality items (tanks and headlamps to name but a few) available from reputable dealers on eBay for example Royal Choppers however the manufacturer of these items often has rejects with imperfections e.g. fit or paint or weld defects. Those reject items get distributed to dealers who list and post lower prices on eBay and use the same pictures to sell their products as the good dealers/ vendors. That why there are horror stories. You buy the cheap stuff and you get what you pay for. The Good news is that as stated in this post the good dealers are always willing to negotiate on price so there are happy customers.

Ive sold cheap parts on ebay, but they are what they are and its in the description.
A recent example is some late BSA wing badges, not as good quality and unpainted. The fact they were cheap and unpainted, means you paint them yourself so, dont blame me for the finish, pay treble the price  and get better quality ones, if you can find them BUT remember , when you leave the bike and the expensive ones get nicked or fall off then try to find the same quality again.
