Is anyone getting out on a BSA tomorrow for 'Ride It Day'?

It's probably too late to enter now but how is this being organised and is the destination the National Motorcycle Museum?

Hi Spaceman,

I have not looked too much in to this but it looks like there are organised events all over the country but mostly for cars.  I think originally it was to get classic vehicles out on the road and it has developed in to a fundraising opportunity for Childline.
If no event is available locally then why not just go for a ride and make a donation to Childline if you wish.

As far as I can see, the only thing organised for the motorcycle 'Ride It Day' is the destination location at the National Motorcycle Museum but it says you have to purchase a 'Ride It Plate' off the web site beforehand, presumably to let you into the site? For me, the 'Drive It Day' Bicester Scramble tomorrow looks quite inviting and a lot closer!

Hi,

I think the plate is a means of donating to the charity and getting a concession for getting in the museum.  There seems to be lots of thing organised by car clubs.
We will probably go out for a ride and just see how many other classics are out and about and if we see a group anywhere we will stop and say hello.

I'll be taking a gentle ride out on the M20 to Upton House for the opening meet of the BSA Front Wheel Drive Club.
Weather looks good for the 140 mile round trip.

We will probably head from Hibaldstow to Market Rasen and perhaps stop at Willingham Woods before heading out to pick up the B1225 back towards Caistor and Brigg but then again if it is nice maybe Wragby and Horncastle will be thrown into the mix.

We did our ride of about 45 miles and did not see a classic bike or even a classic car.  Not that many other bikes although a reasonable gathering at Willingham Woods.
Oh well, BSAOC weekends are coming up.

No.  I am in North Lincolnshire so a bit far to Hampshire for a run out but it was a nice day for riding despite the cooling crosswind from the east.

BSAOC has promoted the event, in support of Childline and the unimaginable demands on their time.
Sadly, I was indisposed & missed the ride & Stafford this weekend.
