B31 timing case breather
« on: 30 November, 2021, 14:12:37 »
I have a constant drip from the timing case breather when running. Any tips to sort this please? I have stripped this down and it seems to work blowing and sucking through the breather.

Is this the sort of breather that fits into the timing cover? If so, there's a hole in the metal pipe from it that protrudes into the timing chest. The hole should point at the face of the timing cover from the inside; that is, to the right when the timing cover is on the bike. If not, you'll have to try some different thicknesses of washers under the breather, until the hole points in the right direction.

+1 for Rog1 the hole needs to be facing the cover and away from any oil flying around. There are 2 types of cover also, the later type tries to reduce the exposure with a moulding around the tube
