Amac controls
« on: 12 October, 2021, 19:22:50 »
I have purchased a decent Mag and air double lever, when I stripped it down to clean and have nickel-plated I discovered a strange thin spring steel affair inside, very rusty and broken, the centre is castellated which fits onto the same on the centre post of the levers. Can anyone help with a supplier of such a thing.  Thank You

The anti-rattle shims were only fitted to good quality levers

I have 3 vintage bikes and the flat circular spring in the middle of the carburettor control levers stops the levers closing when you open them. i.e they stay in the same position so that you do not have to keep your hand/fingers on them when you have obtained the speed & mixture you want. Sorry no idea where you can get spares from. Try Autojumbles.

Vintage Replica  (https://www.vintage-replica.cz/svetlaE.htm) in the Czech Republic make very good replica AMAC dual throttle/air levers (I bought some at an auto jumble  for my S27 and they were very friendly and helpful). They might sell the springs separately.
