Evening all,

I remember chalk can be used to help identify the source of an oil leak. Could someone advise me, please, what kind of chalk to use, and how to use it?  Thanks in advance.

I use oil dyes. You can isolate where and which oil depending on colour.

Where can you get dye of different colours? I've only known red dye.

The thing about chalk is that it leaves a track, so you can see more precisely where the oil escaped from. Any advice on chalk?

You need one stick of white chalk and a blackboard....

Then, in large capitals you just write   " B S A "  on it.

Clean the area in question then shake some talcum powder over it. The oil will show a track from it's source.

Look online . You can buy 2 or 3 colours.

Powdered chalk can be found where builder's supplies are sold; ask for chalk line chalk.

Isn't chalk line chalk difficult to get off?

Demon tewwks do a 3 colour kit. It's uv reactive so you just need a little uv torch.
