I think It’s a B31 rigid/ plunger oil tank, it looks a lot like the one I have on mine anyway.

The obvious difference with the one on my B33 is the triangular bracket on the top behind the filler which fixes to the frame. The mounting holes on the back line up with the battery carrier and the oil pipe connections line up, but who knows whether it's original.

Hi,
The reason I asked is that the tank came with a 1952 plunger B31, but the 1949 to 1953 parts book lists tank 65-8479 (shown below) for B31,2,3 & 4 plunger and B31,2,3 & 4 rigid, after frame ZB31 19001.

I have both so I was wondering which to use.

Yes, that looks like mine on a 1950 B33 plunger which would probably be the same on a B31 of the same date.

If you don't need the tank I'd be happy to buy it from you. I have a B32 but need an oil tank within cutaway so that I can fit the high level exhaust that it should have. I can modify a standard B31/33 tank but don't want to cut up the only one I have.
