1949 oil lines to oil tank

Hi All
I am trying to fit oil feed and return pipes from crankcase to oil tank. I have new lower rigid pipes from Drags'. But nothing seems to line up. On the return pipe if you use rubber pipe connection with crimps you can't screw in at the tank end. Anyone else had any problems.

If you have the standard set up (similar to attached pic) you need to make the complete attachment to tank, including rocker supply, prior to making the attachment at the crankcase.
