Hello all, newbie with his first classic
« on: 12 June, 2021, 19:23:10 »
Hi all

New member just embarked on my classic bike journey.

I own a Triumph Street Triple as my modern bike but I have just bought myself a 1960 C15 to tinker with.

A bit of a funny bike which I think has been cobbled together, runs OK but there are a lot of things non standard so my plan is to try and restore the beast back to its original condition.

Will post pictures later, wish me luck and no doubt I will be asking lots of dumb questions through this forum.

Most of the dumb questions about the C15 have probably already been asked, probably by myself, so don't worry!

If you don't already have a copy, the Rupert Ratio books are well worth getting. I've found they can be a bit Jane Austen in that certain things could probably be explained more straightforward with less words, but they've proven very helpful and 1,000,000 times better than a Haynes manual.

I'd only worked on modern bikes before, so there were a few quirks to get my head round, but everyone on here and Britbike has been really helpful. There's nothing to them as you're probably already aware! Good luck.

Thanks Courtney

A couple of pics of the bike.  Things I know are wrong:

Headlight and nacelle, so by default fork sleeves too.
Rear shocks
Speedo
Mudguards
No pillion footrests
Handlebars
side covers colour

Apart from that frame and engine are good and it has been converted to 12V
