Actually I now notice a couple of small pin-holes in the solder. Don't know how deep they are but I guess assume the worst. Maybe I'll smooth a thin layer of JBWeld Steelstik over the top of the solder? Comments anyone? Phil

I used fast Araldite and as yes have not had a problem. Tho in truth I favour new taps.

About 30 years ago I sealed some quite large holes in my Velocette petrol tank using Araldite and have had no leaks.

If the pin holes are as small as the filter mesh, just let it be. One thing is certain, not polyester. Had an at least 30 year old quick fix with that on my Manx Norton that started to leak.

But then if memory serves, at least when welding, once you've got pin holes they take a lot of getting rid of without starting afresh. Might be different with solder, can't remember. Phil

Impurities are cause of pinholes. Usually.

No pin holes this time. Heated it again, bit of flux, bit of solder, made sure heated full circumference. Thanks again all. Phil
