Hi, just purchased a 1970 441 Victor special with steel tank/ TLS front brake and in shooting star livery. The Engine no is BC1154/B44VS and frame no is D11109/B44VS. Are these numbers correct for that year?

Check the frame number, if 1970 it would start with 2 letters not 1. These numbers are sometimes quite faint stampings easily obscured if the frame has been powdercoated.

The engine and frame numbers would be the same.

The C in the engine number means 1969 season. The B means March. Maybe another figure in the engine number?

My bad, eng: no is BC11554, will scrape paint off frame tomorrow to look for letter

My matching number 1970 VS starts with PD. Whatever that means.

just scraped powder coating off frame and frame no is ED 11109.

That’s was optimistic, “B indicates 1980 model”?!!
