Indian Tank for B33

The tank on my B33 is leaking through a previous repair that was done with solder. I thought about resoldering it but this would b the second resoldering. I also thought about laboriously scraping the solder off and brazing it, but that would hard to do without ruining the paint and discoloring the chrome.

I'm tempted to fork over the 300 USD for one from India and be done with it. The tank I gave now isn't original anyway. I was told it was for an A7 and it's had a crappy epoxy paint job done inside it.

My Shooting Star and my B33 have Indian tanks. It's the second on on the B33 as I dropped my Shooting Star off the lift. The handlebars totally modified the B33 tank. All tanks have been good.

A well known 'Goldie' expert told me that the Indian tanks were better than the original factory tanks by virtue of the superior welding. The can vary slightly in contour & size!

The Indian tanks are made from a thicker gauge of steel then BSA used. You may find that the clearances under the tank are more generous so will need more packing.

We've got an Indian made tank on my partner's Ariel. It's chromed and very good quality really, although the panels were repainted to match the bike colour. Would I buy one? Probably, yes!

I've had tanks from India for my B31; C11G and C11 and they have all been fine- and certainly a lot cheaper than having the originals repaired, stripped and re-chromed. The last one- for the rigid C11 (the speedo in tank model)  came complete with petrol cap; petrol tap AND Speedo...all for just over £150...bargain !

I brought a Goldie tank from India for my A10, Chromed, Painted, Badges and Petrol taps inc.....fitted just right but petrol taps no good, threads for bracing bar a weird thread, had to make some nuts to fit studs, BUT...For £200 all up it was a bargain

I have bought two tanks from India, one for an early B31 with a speedo in it and one for an Ariel NH. Very happy with both of them and they fit without problems.  Threads are all metric.

My supplier was Royal Choppers.

However, ans them first to send dimensions and measurements of key dimensions first.  They sent me liads of pictures with a measuring tape next to it. That way you can check first if everything will fit - placement of emblems, knee pads, attachment points to the frame etc.

Royal chopper mate every time first class tanks and can have a good deal with them may have to pay import taxes but both of the tanks I've purchased from them it was less than 30quid each time
