I've only got one thing to say to you Phil......Kitchen!!  ;)
Warm, washable floor, parts washer, parts dryer and a kettle.
Shouldn't be scrabbling about in a cold garage mate... ;D

Don't forget heating up cases to remove or replace bearings, that really, really cold cupboard that you can keep the new bearings in overnight so they drop into place easily, and of course heating up the tin of Linklyfe for the drive chain.  ;)

Also, washing up liquid and sugar make a fine, gently abrasive hand cleaner that's kind to the environment.  ;)

I have been using sugar and washing up liquid for years.

Just tried my new heater again, this time in milder weather. On full for two hours. Temp rose from 9 Deg C to 13. So I guess I shouldn't expect wonders, and use the heater as necessary in conjunction with other measures eg draught exclusion. Thanks everyone.  Phil

This topic is mega popular, what we go.man gonna talk  about when the weather improves,... Any chance you could lessen the area to beat phil, couple of sheets of ply could make a temporary partition, or you could use the kitchen but then you may be looking for two houses, (tried to put laughing smily here but couldn't work out how to do it )......Dave.

Hi,

When the heatwave comes how will we keep ourselves cool in our sheds?   Cold beer = no riding.  Lots of ice cream =  your bike gear eventually won't fit.  Electric fans = money spent on electricity that could be spent on petrol.  This is so stressful.

Dave.

I discoved my new shed has a slight leak from the roof. Put the heater on today to dry things out. So now all the moisture in the shed has vapourised and condensed on the Spuer Rocket and B28. They both stared the day bone dry and are now literally dripping wet!
I'm leaving the heater on till thay are dry so will have spent more on electricity than petrol for these bikes in the last 6 months ;)

First job is fix the leak! Then perhaps a dehumidifier but good ventilation should see it right. You missed your chance with the cold spell we've just had - it was incredibly dry!

I don't like de-humidifiers. My brther is using one full time to keep his E-type dry.
Best to sort the problem.
I put the electric convection heater in the shed for 36 hours with the windows ajar. All dry now.
The damp is due to the shed company cutting corners on roofing etc.
I have had 4 x 5ltr cans of Roofix sitting in the front room till the weather improves. It looks like I'll be able to apply it this weekend.
