You may wish just to change spark plug ,it may be sparking but check isn’t spackling from electrode to earth pin , not sparking from inside the ceramic, just a thought Roy

Through my experience I would say it’s quite normal to hear the clicking its the tension of valve spring trying to take up back lash in cam gears etc it will only do it when turned over slowly,Roy

Yes a mate bought a set last year and touch wood have been absolutely trouble free , from memory the oil control ring needed attention as it was to tight to compress to get in bore , I was a tad concerned the piston circlip was very close to edge , I think he use some original circlips for piece of mind , he has had no probs no burning oil ,

the piston he replaced was non branded in plain white box’s and the seized twice he had bores honed and seized again I measured his clearance for him and they were double what is  recommended and still seized , he bought cheap and got what paid

Good morning, I have just acquired a second hand starter kit for a7/10 it was taken off bike because the sprag bearings had disintegrated ( quite a mess ) I have got and fitted new ones now ,looking at the driving chain from motor up to chain case , the chain on this looks like the size of a dynamo chain ,although it had been working does anyone know if this is the size chain that is fitted , regards Roy
( i can’t find any contact for Steve McFarland who designed and built these )
