The last one i fixed with the main fuse blowing was on a B44 turned out to be the horn . Soon as switched on blew main fuse . Horn defective . Unwired the horn and all was good .

[/quote]That was the Sidewinder, wasn't it?
Hideous contraption, but there have been others & there's even plans to build your own leaning sidecar available.
Maybe 15 or 20 years ago I asked if anyone had done engineering stress tests on these things & there was so much shuffling of feet that Timpsons shoe repairs must have made a fortune afterwards.

That was it a rather pointless sidecar that got past the cc rules for learners . Doubt they wont be legal now though .

True  i past my test on a 250 ajs but i can remember lots riding bigger motorcycles with a third wheel attached . Looked like it actually articulated up and down to allow for bike to tip over into corners . Cant find any photos and memory could be fuzzy but remember in the 70s seeing 750 fours , honda , with a wheel attached to the left that had no reason to be there other than to confuse the licence rules .

Destroyed it was but then completely re-built . Think the rebuilt version is still there .

I think the holes in the sprocket are for a puller to be fitted not for jacking it off the casings . something along the lines of this would probably do it .

It has a badly adjusted 8" front brake usually fitted on the A10s so a 650cc. Age anywhere between 51 and 55.

The rider has the brake lever well pulled on think it would look better positioned if the lever was out .

maybe if Henry Cole was riding a Gold Star the he had rebuilt himself then maybe his legs would be covered in fresh oil . If he were to ride my Gold Star that I rebuilt he could ride it in his best suit as mine is totally oil tight . As are most properly rebuilt Gold stars .

Hi ya

I will give them a try many thanks

Oh when you say they need lapping in do you mean the Collets in the spring top cup ? or do you mean in the valve head itself ?

collets in the top spring cup . I had a broken collet years ago and an older chap i lived next door to told me to lap the new collets to the old retainers , which i did and have done for years after . Never had a broken or displaced collet ever since .
