Post as much information as you can here about the BSA you are looking for and maybe someone can help. A first point of call is the DVLA website
https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/
where you can check if the registration still exists. But all is not lost if you cannot find it there, it may still be hiding in someone's shed....

Triples / Amal 626 over stamped numbers
« on: 21 June, 2021, 18:18:51 »
Whilst refurbishing the Amal 626 carburettors for my Rocket 3 I have noticed various numbers/letters stamped on and crossed out. The picture shows the 47 stamped over with a cross and the number 61 stamped on the body. The other 2 are stamped in a similar manner. The number 47 refers to the 1971/72 range, whilst the 61 refers to the 1972 range of the Rocket 3. I'm just interested into why this would have been done. Would this have been done by BSA or Amal. There is no difference between a number 47 and a 61 in respect of setup, same main jet , slide size etc.

Thanks Rob

The Star and Garter / FBHVC 2020 Enthusiast Survey
« on: 07 August, 2020, 17:55:28 »
The Federation undertook an extensive National Historic Vehicle Survey in 2016 which showed that the movement is worth £5.5 billion to the economy each year and directly supports employment for over 34,000 people. It was planned that this survey would be updated in 2021 based on activities during 2020. In the light of the devastating effects of Covid-19 and the cancellation of so many historic vehicle meetings it has been decided to bring forward the survey to use 2019 as the base year. When you complete the survey please consider your answers in the context of activities undertaken in the year to December 2019.

Motorcycle enthusiasts are underrepresented against car enthusiasts in the survey so they are asking for you to fill it in so they can represent us. To take part in the survey just go to the BSAOC website at https://www.bsaownersclub.co.uk/fbhvc_survey.php and click on the link.

The answers you give will be used to benefit the historic vehicle movement as a whole and will shape the future focus of the FBHVC acting on behalf of its member organisations and all enthusiasts.

On submission of your questionnaire, you will be given the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win one of the following prizes: a year’s Club Insurance policy to the value of £250.00 including IPT, courtesy of Peter James Insurance, one of three pairs of tickets for the 2020 Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, Courtesy of Clarion Events or one of 15 display copies of the Federation’s historic vehicle chart.

National, Branch and Group Events / John Bull Rally 2020/2021
« on: 21 April, 2020, 17:57:35 »
Hello everyone,

As you could guess there will be no John-Bull this year due to a certain virus which keeps us off the road and gives us more unintended shed time! We do have a gentlemans agreement with the site owner to let the event go through next year about the same period (first weekend of may) and on the same site and most probably with a brewery installed on the site. Let us just hope to see each other again in good health and spirit next year so we can enjoy the local beer and each others company again ,
greetings

,Mario Volckaert
secretary B.S.A. O.C. Belgium.

The Star and Garter / Forum Admin Response to Deletion of Posts
« on: 10 February, 2019, 18:43:38 »
This Forum has been run on a self-managed basis, requiring little or no intervention from the Webmaster. The rules for posting have always been simple, offensive language will not be tolerated and posts deemed to be not in the spirit of the Forum would be deleted. The method of monitoring posts has been left to the Forum Moderators, and no record of the Post content or the Poster has been kept where a post has been deleted.

However, in light of Forum members being unhappy about the deletion of their posts, I have with immediate effect put the following process in place for the Moderators:

1.   They will continue to edit posts where offensive language has been used.
2.   Where they feel the post is not in the spirit of the Forum and should be deleted, they will refer this action to me. If the post is deleted, details will be kept of its content and poster.
3.   Should there be a grievance in respect of a post being deleted, then in the first instance please contact  webmaster@bsaownersclub.co.uk  I would ask you please not to use the Forum to air your grievance.

Apologies to those members who feel they have had their posts wrongly deleted. I hope by implementing the above procedure any further issues can be readily rectified. I also hope that these members will continue to contribute to the Forum.

In lieu of flowers on the day, we would appreciate donations payable to 'Barts Charity', in recognition of the excellent care Barry received at St Barts Hospital.
