Twins / Front wheel removal
« on: 29 March, 2018, 16:58:16 »
I am attempting to remove the front wheel of my Super Rocket. I have slackened the pinch bolt and the spindle has a round machined end with a hole through it. I have had a toggle bar in but can barely move it. My question is, is it a left hand thread on the spindle??
                                                                                                                                Many Thanks, Malcolm

Twins / Rocker box studs
« on: 17 November, 2017, 15:05:16 »
Help please.....I have removed the cast head off my super Rocket and replaced it with a 67-1549 alloy head. On the cast head, the 4 corner studs on my rocker box pass through the cast head and tighten the nuts from underneath. However, when I offer up the rocker box to the alloy head, they are 2ins short and not long enough to pass through the alloy head. Is there anywhere I can purchase the longer studs or advice please? Many Thanks....Malcolm.

Furthermore I have since fitted a 'Ballafix' quarter turn tap on the flow to prevent wet sumping when standing and I'll see how that goes. Many thanks to you Julian & Eddie guys.

Thanks so much for the reply......the return is flowing excellent back to the tank and the engine has been re-built professionally. Giving it some thought, it may be the residual oil in the engine dropping into the sump when the engine has stopped ???

Apologies firstly....this is not to do with my Super Rocket but my 1960 T120 Bonneville. The bike runs and ticks over very well, however, I have noticed that the left exhaust pipe and silencer is only warm, whereas, the right side is running hot. Can anyone on the forum give me any idea of the problem? both cylinders are firing very well! Thanks in anticipation.....Malcolm.

I have a remote oil filter on my Super Rocket......I was advised by a member it MUST be fitted to the return as the flow may starve the mains and big end bearings..... works great and good return to oil tank.

Hi Julian.....job done as per your instructions. Filled gearbox and completely oiltight. I didn't have the correct seal so used two thin 'O' rings.....perfect. Thanks once again for your help. Malcolm.
