Hi,
On my last application in March this year the bike wasn't insured, it was MoT'ed because it was 1966 frame therefore not exempt.

The latest bike is also 1966 but with the new 40 year rule introduced on the 20th May it is exempt a MoT, therefore as per the BSAOC advice I used a V112 form instead.

Best wishes...

Hi,
Originally BSA used alloy washers, have you tried them?

Hi,
How deep have the valve seats been ground in the past? is it worth trying a thicker gasket at the base of the cylinder?

Which BSA do you ride? / A65 Dressed in Black

Hi,
    Latest A65 build.

Teaching my son how to build and maintain to keep the tradition going. This is his bike, his design, I guess a modern taste to vintage designs.

A65, Black Shadow  ;)

Singles / Re: Cast iron head crack repair?
« on: 25 May, 2018, 14:02:31 »
Hi,
Depends where the crack is and if its load or pressure bearing.

Use crack detection fluid and developer to find the extent of the crack. If possible drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it migrating then fill the crack with braze.

Hi,
I have built a number of A65/A50's and kept lots of references over the years, putting together detailed manuals for each bike.

Twins / A10 Rear rim - help needed
« on: 19 May, 2018, 10:02:18 »
Hi,
Please help, I'm building a A10 scrambler and looking for a rim part number 42-5833. I am happy to get a equivalent but I can't find its dimensions, ie diameter and profile (WM2 or WM3).

Thanks...
