Hi all I have read where ethanol E10 is being introduced this year and is going to cause havoc with classic cars and bikes although E5 may be still on some forecourts and you may struggle to find it, how do other countries cope I think the USA have had it quite a long time is there an effective additive to combat it, thanks Roy  >:(

Anybody got any information regarding the law about extended mots last year, someone has tried to explain that anyone with an extended mot could be prosecuted by the end of January but he did not know all the facts I thought if you got an mot after the extended period it would last for a year (date to date) any views on this matter. thanks Roy

The Star and Garter / 30 to 20
« on: 17 November, 2020, 01:00:39 »
I read an article in the MCN nov 11 that the Welch parliament are proposing to reduce speed in 30 mph zones to 20 mph in 2023 wow I bet that's going to annoy drivers/riders and add pollution from lorries using lower gears to keep their revs up, Roy

Twins / Speedo problem
« on: 10 November, 2020, 15:34:37 »
Hi all, I have a 1966 A65L I had the speedo and tacko overhauled because they where in a bad state and the speedo needle very jerky. The repair chap showed me the repaired speedo working on his bench nice and smooth, when they where fitted to the bike the speedo was still a bit jerky but not as bad as before, months later I changed the cable from the gearbox this made the needle smooth but the needle didn't move until a few yards down the road and started at 10mph on rides out I thought the reading was wrong when approaching display speed cameras they displayed 30 but my speedo said 20 I rigged a satalite speedo up and that displayed 30 and my speedo 20. My speedo is SSM 5001/03A and the gearbox is I believe 2/1 and back wheel 19 inch if anyone is still awake can they confirm the gear box and speedo are compatable, thanks Roy

« on: 30 September, 2020, 13:40:22 »
Are the front and rear shoes the same the reason is I want a modern material on the front to improve stopping I have a set of worn rear shoes so if they are the same as the front I can send them away and carry on riding until they come back, thanks Roy
