My son is just having an A65 relined with lipped liners. Job is being done by AD Engineering  Newark-on-Trent area. So maybe if you email Adrian Goddard adrian803@btinternet.com he can tell where to get the liners.

I think that over the last few months there has been so much genuine good advice on the site that most of us are getting it right at last. Watch this space.

Thanks to all the good "advisors"

Ho Ho Ho!

Had the same problem for years with old Tractors. They don't need an MOT so not pos on line Not pos at post office because the renewal form called for an MOT. So every time "call DVLA" to sort problem. Every time have to speak to a supervisor. Every time received an amended renewal form. Next year-----just the same. Don't know if its still the same.

 :) Hi

I've just been "digging" and all I've found about insurance for taxation purposes is that production of insurance details for post office taxation is only necessary in N Ireland. I cant find a definitive answer for online or the rest of UK.

Being a bear of very small brain, is your post suggesting that Insurance is (now) not necessary for initial registration.

I've just been looking at this again. Maybe it would be possible for the kind gentleman to start to produce these as an additional extra. I would imaging that they could be easily adapted for use on all our "old darlings" to great advantage.
That would mean that those of us who are less "spannerably atheletic" could have access to it.
Perhaps someone like Draganfly would be interested. The design might not go far on Dragons Den but it is much too good to let it fade.

Just read through my new BEESA Mag. Super read as usual.

I was especially interested in the "Oil Filtration for Unit A Series Twins" By Tony Harrison. Very good idea and obviously a well thought out design.
So many congratulations, Tony, on an excellent piece. I know where I am going now with my rebuild. Thank you.

Quite an amazing coincidence!!!After posting my reply yesterday I chanced to look on Ebay and got a brand new still boxed and sealed SRM pump.
I paid what I think of as "the old SRM price" which I didn't mind. Cos it means as soon as I get another couple of bits I can start the rebuild properly.

Yes I don't expect a lot of change out of a lot of money. But I've just had my A65 engine completely redone so maybe jus maybe the expense will be worth it. I'll see when the time comes. I can always cancel the order.

The Star and Garter / Vehicle registration

Greetings. I have never registered an MOT exempt vehicle before, so need a bit of assist. What exactly do I have to do. What forms do I actually need. I've just read thro .gov and arrived at a point of total non clarity (surprise surprise).

For instance, do I actually need the relevant form for initial historic registration??

So any help gratefully accepted

If you have access to a mig welder or of course a friend with one---Run about a 2" weld along the centre of the bearing obviously around it, in the normal track. They will then fall out. Be very careful not to weld them in--cos that will surely surely give you some serious grief. Make sure your battery is disconnected cos sometimes your electrics aint happy with a bucketful of volts shoved in. Warning they are bloody hot when they come out.

Twins / Re: 72 Rocker Cover Studs A65
« on: 27 May, 2018, 17:53:59 »

It is just possible that those studs have been wound out unintentionally on several occasions cos the nuts are stuck. I have had the same problem on my A50.
So I tapped it 1/4 unc??I think and I now use allen bolts. Does the job perfik. Its not as if it needs massive torque, so be careful not to overtighten.

I need a brake pedal for an early model A50/A65 with the cross over shaft. Do any other BSA models fit. Your advice appreciated,
