« on: 20 November, 2018, 10:07:51 »
Looking forward to this coming weekend down in Wales, at the awards weekend, I suppose there could be a few less this year, with a lot being or returning from the international but I am sure it will be a great weekend and I'm looking forwards to seeing a few old familiar faces there.
I do have my trusty hip flash and wellies at the ready, see you there.

The Star and Garter / Chronometric speedo repairs
« on: 07 November, 2018, 11:39:34 »
I would like to strongly recommend Chronometric Instrument Services,  What a fantastic job they did for me, I sent away my Chronometric speedo to them, after talking with Russ, the chap who runs the place, he gave me a turn around time of three weeks, which was spot on, received it this morning and was delighted with the result. A complete rebuild, re calibrated and it looks like new, 140 plus 8-50 recorded delivery, fantastic. Highly recommended.

I never checked the temp on the other side, I have not checked the resistance of the alternator, I believe that that should be okay as it's a relatively new one but I will, after I get back from the Hampshire camp this weekend, I may just make up a new harness next week.
Many thanks for your input, very often there is something simple you tends to miss.

Singles / B25 problem
« on: 30 July, 2018, 11:18:40 »
Hello All.
I have a slight problem with my 1969 Starfire, after a short out, due to the horn wires melting on to the exhaust pipes when the bracket broke, almost burning out the loom, repairs were made and Zenor diode & solid state rectifier replaced with a RR 12v-14 unit, I am showing a discharge on the ammeter, when lights are on but no sign of charging, although checking with the meter at the battery it's showing a charge, ammeter is okay, when I took it for a short ride through the town I notice the primary chain case was very hot, I know the weather was hot, which didn't help but I could not hold my hand on the chain case for any length of time.
Maybe I've missed something, or maybe I need to get a new loom, what do you think?

Singles / Re: B25 Wiring
« on: 02 July, 2018, 11:22:28 »
Can you post a picture of the diagram? Is it a problem with the charging of the battery or a problem with the ignition side of things?

Yes, it's not charging and I'm not getting any reading on the amp meter, Ignition side is okay.

Latest update: problem seems to have been a bad connection at the amp meter, I think it's sorted but I will have to charge the battery up before I know for sure.

The valve lifter lever is splined so you can adjust it with the valve to get the correct position.

Singles / B25 Wiring
« on: 01 July, 2018, 12:27:09 »
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a B25 1959 model, using a RR12v-14 with a Pazon electronic ignition? I seem to have a problem, I have done away with the solid state rectifier and Zenor diode but I don't seem to be able to get the thing wired up to work, on the diagram they send out with the RR it looks so simple, what am I doing wrong?

The Librarian is Steve Foden & he can only be contacted by post, address is 113, Holmville Road, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 2PX  This service costs 20 for members, 25 for non members, Hope this helps.
