Singles / Re: b31 seat
« on: 23 November, 2020, 22:32:40 »
hi , i would go for the large single saddle which i have on my plunger but i believe the police a10 s used a small saddle [uncomfortable ]. the fittings on a swingarm are the 2 threaded battery posts to bolt the flat spring coil [ you will need short springs] and the front seat pivot. for the front pivot you have to remove the locating bolt and knock out the centre shaft so its hollow and swop the locating bolt/screw  for a grease nipple. look at fittings and parts for royal enfields and lambrettas. the pattern seats generally have holes drilled for varying widths between springs. so - so quality.

hi pete, i m not too familiar with the single oil pump but i ve seen thin paper used as a gasket on the body to add gear clearance on a10 oil pumps. you should find out out where its rubbing with engineer blue or send it back.

unfortunately its dark and my tank looks worse than it actually is. the chrome is peeling off.
i think the tank is different from standard for the star twin tank badges to fit.
i have the star twin tank but not the bike. my bsa is a standard a7.

if its a magneto the first place i would look after checking points is the pick up holder for corrosion. also wipe clean the slip ring with the points plate removed.

well if the greens get their way and ban meat eating i think methane bikes are the way to go. i produce plenty of methane eating parsleys and couliflowers  and the seating position above the methane tank looks ideal. riding home from the pub could also be interesting.

Twins / Re: A10 S/A forks
« on: 15 September, 2020, 23:13:11 »
before you strip the front end place a large screwdriver between the brake plate and fork and wiggle around. the wheel should be rigid against the fork. the spindle should also be rigid and the clamp fork stays in place when tightened. there are lots of spindles that look the same but dont work on a a10. the a65 spindle being one.
