One other decision that I've got to make is what to do with the wheels. The chrome on them has some rusting and the spokes are pretty shabby. Any recommendations welcome.

I am very happy with my stainless rims and spokes.

I have been with Greenflag for many years. I gave them a ring and they said that they would recover my bike, or indeed any vehicle belonging to me or that I was a pasenger in.

It's to allow the fuel to flow up through the tickler and provide an indication of when the carb is starting to flood.
Thanks Thumper.

Why is there a hole drilled through the tickler ?

New rim, new tire, tire soap applied
The tire been removed, re fitted, half inflated, over inflated, levered one way then the other but still I cant get it to run perfectly true.
I am now hoping that a little use will sort it out.
The tire in question is an Avon 3.50 - 19 57L sidecar triple duty.

The trouble that I have had is, truing the tire up on the wheel, (getting the line around the tire to run true on the rim.)

They were also sensible and allowed occasional riding with the chair left at home for "road testing" or sidecar maintenance.

I assume that the tires would have to be changed for solo riding as well, as combo tires have a square profile.

The problem with posting from photo imaging sites is that, when they make changes all of the images disappear from our postings.
That is why it is better to post pictures from your PC.

Singles / Re: Grease gun
« on: 10 February, 2018, 16:56:33 »
This is the one I use, it 1s unbranded.

The nozzle grips the nipple and it provides copious quantities of grease. I got it when I had a B40, being aware of the need to keep those swinging arm bushes well greased.
I have one of those guns, best if you get the tins of grease with a tin cover with a hole in for filling the gun.
I suppose that the BSA nipples could be changed to the type for this gun.

I'm looking to get a grease gun for my 1965 BSA B40 - maybe an old secondhand one from ebay? But how do I know what kind of gun will fit the grease nipples on my bike?  Phil (novice)
If it has a nozzle like this , it will fit.

Roy

Peter James's insurers accept valuations up to 5k with photos of both sides of the bike.
I paid more than that just for the sidecar.

How do I go about getting an Independent Valuation for my insurance company ?

Thanks,
Roy.
I have found a local dealership that will do it.  ;D
