The Star and Garter / Bushman...
« on: 04 February, 2022, 18:31:26 »
Just finished a re-build on my D10 Bushman. Yes bought in on this site and am more than happy with the result.. It will be on show at the Telford off Road Show  12/13th Feb on the Owd Codgers stand . I belive we will be in the forecourt so a prime spot for 2 if not 3 of my off-road BSA's  . If anybody comes to the show make yourself known.. The kettle might be on... . As there is some history to the bike it could even make an article for the  mag. It's a small world as they say.... Had my first ride of the year last week. sadly it was to Tom Shukers funeral.. Nice little turnout of bikes to remember one of the necest blokes I've known.....

Sadly clashes with the Giants Run for girder/rigid bikes.... Won't be with you for that one....   Griff

The two crs you mention Paul are lovely food for the tinworms... Buying a classic car now-a-days is one hell of a lottery and in majority up for sale have hidden rot  Unledd there is a well documented restoration history, photo's and receipts, run a mile or be prepared to spend 10k on having it done.. A good friend restores cars and vans , professionaly and has just had  a customer pay 16k to restore a 10" wheel mini...    Griff

(just off the a34)  12-15 assembly to depart at 12-30 prompt.. Lets see how many will brave the weather for such a dedicated BSA Owner....

Will be very interesting riding the new bike , The biggest problem with modern bikes and us wrinkleys is the weight of the bike for man handling round the garage etc. Also if the 'Admiral' goes out ofr a test ride will he return it ???? He'll more likely hide it down Scotty Road while he has a pint or two of 'Higgys'....

Twins / A50 ignition switch ?
« on: 10 January, 2022, 22:22:50 »
How easy is it to change the barrel on an a50 ignition lock ?  Might be easier to buy a new unit or not ?  Thanks...

To be fair John we didn't do very well in 1940 to stop the Germans and if it hadn't been for the French rear guard action we would have got even less back from Dunkirk.. That was quoted to me by a retired Colonel .

As to the French not liking us, I disagree strongly. (I lived there for 18 years) The only Brits the French dislike are the arogant ones that demand the French should speak English.. Can you imagine the reaction here if the French came over and demanded we speak French ?  After all they conquered this land and were never sent back...  Griff

Bad news that... Lets hope Telford is still on in February where hopefully my D10 Bushman will be on show on the Old Codgers stand . There is a bit of interesting history with that bike if you know about the trials world of the 60's and BSA works riders of the day.  It will be alongside my C15T...  Yes Admiral there will be a brew and a biscuit for you if you desire...   Griff
